Collection: ADHD Assessment

At Juno Clinic, there are 3 steps to receiving an ADHD diagnosis. This is the same robust process that is based on the NICE guidelines and replicates the NHS process so your report from Juno Clinic can be submitted to NHS services for validation.

ADHD is a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity that interferes with functioning or development. When using the NICE guidelines for assessment, this is is a 6-8 hour process for the clinician which is why there are associated costs.

1. We offer a screening appointment (that can be in person or by video) whereby we better understand the issues that have led you to seek an assessment and we conduct a mental health evaluation to review if there are other conditions that could explain your symptoms. Our patients feedback that they find this appointment very helpful because the formulation from this appointment has led them into other services that have helped them progress their issues; or it has helped them better understand the difference between symptoms of ADHD and symptoms of other mental health conditions.

2. If there are not other conditions that explain your symptoms, we proceed onto the ADHD assessment which is a 2 hour in person assessment. We ask that you bring someone who knows you from your childhood (parent, sibling, aunt/uncle, friend etc) who are also included in the process. We require information from your GP and may also ask you for school reports or similar information.

Our consulting room is based in South Manchester, close to Manchester Airport.

3. Then 2-3 weeks after this appointment, we bring you back to our office to discuss in detail the outcome of the assessment and discuss with you next steps, such as our post-diagnosis support group, medication or coaching options.

If you would like to ask any questions, call or message us.

Or, if you would like to start the process, book a screening appointment or complete the screening document and we will get back to you.
